Thank you for your interest in becoming an official

 

There are 6 steps of becoming an official:

1) Register to be an official with USA Swimming (if you're REALLY interested, the link to register will be emailed to you)

2) Complete  Foundations of Officiating and  Stroke & Turn Certification courses - these are online

3) Complete a level 2 background check

4) Complete Athlete Protection Training - online, self-guided

5) Complete Concussion Training - online, self-guided

6) Complete 4 on-deck training sessions

 

Any fees incurred for your USA Swimming membership and background check will be reimbursed at the end of the season if you've worked our home meets (more importantly, any HOME session your child/children are swimming).

 

There are definitely perks to becoming an official.  Free food during meets worked, free clothes (some meets), no admission fees for meets worked (home or away), and club fee discounts...just to name a few.
